Movement Standards

Worm Clean and Jerk: The worm starts on the ground and both athletes standing on the same side.  The worm is lifted to the athletes’ shoulders. At the top, each athlete’s hips and knees must remain fully extended as the worm is lifted over the athletes’ heads and moved to the opposite shoulders.  The arms do not need to reach full extension as the worm is moved overhead.  The rep is completed when the worm reaches the athletes’ opposite shoulders.  The worm must return back to the ground before the athletes begin the next rep.

Synchro Burpee over the worm: Athletes will be on opposite sides of the worm. Athletes can face each other when performing the movement. Athletes may step or jump down to the ground. At the bottom of the movement, both athletes’ chests and thighs must make contact at the same time. Athletes can not stand up from the burpee until both athletes’ chest and thighs make contact with the ground. If Athlete A reaches the bottom of the burpee before Athlete B, they must wait in the bottom position for Athlete B.

After both athletes’ chest and thighs make contact with the ground then they can jump or step  their feet.

Athletes will then jump over the worm. A two-foot take-off or landing is not required. Stepping over the worm is not allowed. Both feet must be off the ground for the rep to count. The rep ends when the athletes land on both feet on the opposite side of the worm.  If any part of the athlete makes contact with the worm, it will be a no rep. Athletes must jump over the worm, not around. Jumping around the worm will result in a no rep.

Worm Lunge: Each step starts with the athletes on the same side of the worm, with the worm resting on their shoulders. The athletes must start each 20’ with the lead athlete’s feet clearly behind the line.  At the bottom, each athlete’s knee must make contact with the ground at the same time.  At the top of each step, each athlete’s hips and knees must be fully extended at the same time before beginning the next step.  Shuffle steps that advance the athletes forward

between reps are not allowed. Any no-rep during the movement will result in the team moving back to the previous successfully completed five-foot section.

The rep is credited when: both heels are past the line (touching the line will not count) of the trailing athlete, the feet are together, and the hips and legs are fully extended.

The athletes must reach the finish position before lowering the worm from their shoulders

Wall Walks: Every rep begins and ends with the athlete lying down, with their chest, feet, and thighs touching the ground. At the start and finish of each rep, both hands must touch the first tape line (fingers touching is OK). The first tape line will be measured 55 inches from the wall for both men and women. Both hands must remain on the tape until both feet are on the wall.

At the top of the movement, both hands must touch the tape line for the 10-inch mark before the athlete can descend. Any part of the hand may touch the tape line. On the descent, the feet must remain on the wall until both hands are touching the first line.

The rep is credited when the athlete returns to the starting position, with both hands touching the first line and their chest, thighs, and feet touching the ground. Any part of the hand may make contact with the tape line.

The arms must be fully extended and in line with the body before the athlete can descend. The legs must remain straight throughout the repetition. Athletes may not attempt to “climb” the wall with their feet or legs. Kipping during the press is not allowed. Each rep begins and ends with the athlete in the lockout position with the toes against the wall, arms fully extended, and shoulders in line with the body. Both hands must remain on the designated tape line. If one or both hands is not touching the tape line at any time, the repetition will not count.

At the bottom, the head must make contact with the ground. The feet do not need to remain in contact with the wall for the duration of the movement, but the feet must return to the wall at the beginning and end of each rep.

Wall Facing Handstand push-up: The athlete must perform their handstand push-ups with both hands touching the tape line 10 inches from the wall. Any part of the hand may touch the tape line. The tape line will measure 30 inches wide.

The athlete must start with the chest and thighs touching the floor before moving to the lockout position. The athlete must move into the lockout position with their hands on the line before descending for the first rep. The athlete may NOT cartwheel or otherwise kick up into the handstand position. If the athlete comes down from the wall at any time, they start again from the floor before beginning the next rep.

Each rep is credited when the athlete returns to the lockout position with the toes on the wall; arms, hips, and legs fully extended; and shoulders in line with the body.

Strict Handstand Push-up: The athlete must perform their handstand push-ups with both hands touching the tape line 10 inches from the wall. Any part of the hand may touch the tape line. The tape line will measure 30 inches wide.
