The first step of qualifying to compete at FOTC is through the Coastal Qualifier. Top athletes (individual & two-person teams) who finish in a certain ranking or position earn their spot to compete at the Charleston Convention Center February 10-12, 2023. Athletes will complete five scored workouts over the course of four weeks. One week there will be a two-scored workout. The qualifier begins Thursday, September 29 and runs through Tuesday, October 25, 2022. Workouts are released every Thursday evening at 7pm (EST) and athletes have until 9pm (EST) the following Tuesday to submit a score.

OVERVIEW

ONLINE QUALIFIER (Sept. 29 - Oct. 25, 2022)

EVENT (Feb. 10-12, 2023)
Athletes will experience a professional-like event, featuring a beautifully designed competition floor similar to that of some of the biggest events in the CrossFit space. FOTC organization and communication are the gold standard among events, and athletes will never be left in the dark when it comes to event communication. Athletes will experience fun, yet challenging programming that is division appropriate. The event takes place in the climate controlled halls of the Charleston Convention Center in historic Charleston, SC, and features a large vendor village and a separate hall for athletes to lounge in during the competition. Seating will be available for athletes and spectators around the competition floor. Nearby hotels provide athletes the ability to walk to the Convention Center. Individuals will compete Friday afternoon into Saturday afternoon. Two-person teams will compete Saturday afternoon into Sunday afternoon. All divisions will feature a minimum of five workout scores. Charleston, South Carolina, has regularly been named the top U.S. city to visit, so be sure to plan to stop at some of the world-famous restaurants and breweries while at Fittest of the Coast!

Athletes can compete as both a team and individual in the Coastal Qualifier and Fittest of the Coast in-person event. Athletes must register for both divisions in the Coastal Qualifier if they wish to compete as an individual and team.
INDIVIDUAL
This division is for the athlete who may only have a few years of CrossFit experience and often times needs to scale movements. Athletes in this division can expect to see a scaled version of workouts. There are no age restrictions for this division.
To qualify in the Scaled Individual division, athletes will need to register for the Scaled Individual division for the Coastal Qualifier.

ABOUT FOTC

Fittest of the Coast (FOTC) is an invitational fitness competition based out of the coast of South Carolina. Established in 2019, FOTC has quickly become one of the east coast’s most popular fitness events. What sets Fittest of the Coast apart from other events is a full competition season that features an online qualifier and an in-person competition athletes must qualify for. Divisions include individual and two-person team (M/M, F/F, M/F) and a variety of age divisions for teenagers all the way to 60+.
The 2022-23 competition begins in October with a four-week online qualifier. Each week, a workout is released on a Thursday, and athletes have until the following Tuesday night to complete the workout. The top athletes in each division earn spots at the championship event.
The 2023 Championship will be held February 10-12, 2023, at the Charleston Convention Center in Charleston, SC.
