Fittest of the Coast (FOTC) is an invitational fitness competition based out of the coast of South Carolina. Established in 2019, FOTC quickly became one of the area’s most popular events, attracting more than 230 individual athletes to the first event. In year No. 2, FOTC established the Coastal Qualifier – a 5-week online competition to earn an invite to the Fittest of the Coast Championship event. More than 1,110 athletes participated in the inaugural Coastal Qualifier. The second FOTC Championship sold out with 295 competitors. FOTC is ONLY GETTING BETTER!
The 2021-22 competition will feature two different championship events – a two-person team championship and an individual championship.
The Individual Championship features 18 different divisions, including Masters divisions and Teenage divisions. The inaugural Team Championship features 16 different two-person team divisions.
The athlete experience is second-to-none at Fittest of the Coast with athletes receiving athlete kits, lane cards and CASH prizes in EVERY qualified division. Through the first two years, FOTC has given away more than $22,000 in cash to podium winners.
The 2021-22 season schedule will feature the Coastal Qualifier in October, followed by the Team Championship in January 22-23, 2022, at the North Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center in historic Charleston, South Carolina, and the Individual Championship April 2-3, 2022, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, at RH Acres a 15-acre ranch-style event venue just five miles from the beach.
The event is a community-driven event with FOTC partnering with local gyms to host the first two individual championships. The 2020 event was held at Iron Bridge CrossFit and the 2021 event was held at CrossFit Wando.
Committed to the fitness community, Fittest of the Coast and key partner, Imagination Athletics, also created a revenue-generating program – Stronger Together – for area gyms during the COVID-19 pandemic. In just a month’s time, the Stronger Together program generated more than $6,600 to area gyms to provide revenue and support during uncertain times. In total, FOTC has generated and given back more than $18,000 for the local fitness community.
And guess what….Fittest of the Coast is ONLY GOING TO GET BETTER!
