WORKOUT FLOW, STANDARDS & SUBMISSION INFO

Flow:
This workout begins with the athlete standing in front of the wall. The athlete can be facing away or towards the wall. At the call of “3, 2, 1… go,” the athlete will begin the prescribed number of wall walks.

Upon completing the wall walks, the athlete will move to their preloaded barbell and perform the prescribed number of deadlifts. After finishing the deadlifts, the athlete will return to the wall and complete the next set of wall walks, followed by another set of deadlifts.

Once those are complete, the athlete will return to the wall again to perform the prescribed number of wall walks, then move back to the barbell for the prescribed number of cleans. Finally, the athlete will return to the wall one last time for the final set of wall walks, and then move back to the barbell to finish the workout with the remaining cleans.

The athlete may use two pre-loaded barbells during the workout or have anyone change the weights for the cleans.

The Athlete’s score for Workout 5 will be the time to complete the workout. If not completed, the athlete will designate that in their score and provide the total reps completed. The athlete must use a clock that counts up.

Wall Walk: Every rep begins and ends with the athlete lying down, with their chest, feet, and thighs touching the ground. At the start and finish of each rep, both hands must touch the 55” tape line (fingers touching is OK).  The 55” line will be used for both men and women.

Both hands must remain on the tape until both feet are on the wall.

At the top of the movement, both hands must touch the tape line for the 10-inch mark before the athlete can descend. Any part of the hand may touch the tape line.

On the descent, the feet must remain on the wall until both hands are touching the first line (55” line).

The rep is credited when the athlete returns to the starting position, with both hands touching the first line (55” line) and their chest, thighs, and feet touching the ground. Any part of the hand may make contact with the tape line.

Deadlift: The movement begins with the barbell on the ground. The athlete must stand with hips and knees fully locked out and shoulders behind the barbell. Bouncing the barbell is not allowed. Hands must be outside the knees – sumo deadlifts are not allowed. Both bumper plates must touch the ground for a rep to count. Lifting straps or grips are not allowed.

Clean: The movement begins with the barbell on the ground. The barbell must travel from the ground to the shoulders in one motion.  The rep will not be credited until the athlete stands with hips and knees fully extended and the barbell clearly in the front rack position with elbows in front of the barbell.  Any type of clean is allowed (Power, Squat or Split) as long as the standards are met.  If a split clean is used, the feet must be brought back together under the athlete’s body, with the hips and knees fully extended, before the repetition is counted.

Once the athlete completes a successful rep, the barbell must return to the ground with both sides of the bumper plates making contact with the ground.

Hang cleans or pausing at the hips will not be allowed.
